Citizen Connector Training
Citizen Connectors support the wellbeing of others through compassionate conversations and encouraging social and caregiving networks. They like to chat with others, are good listeners and know what is happening in their community. They connect people with the many groups and clubs that help reduce loneliness, to services that can help with activities of daily living and to community education opportunities such as advance care planning.
Citizen Connectors can be hairdressers, taxi drivers, café staff, aged care workers, members of choirs, sporting groups, work colleagues, community workers, business owners, librarians, neighbours, friends, church congregations, supermarket staff, young people, seniors…YOU!
This workshop will involve developing your knowledge and skills to become a Citizen Connector and have ‘sign post’ conversations as part of your everyday life with your family, work colleagues and others you meet in the community. We will also collectively develop a local community directory of people and services that are available to help.
This is a partnership between the South West Compassionate Communities Network and Donnybrook CRC and was made possible with the support of the Age-friendly Communities Connectivity Grant program and Lotterywest.
Light meal provided.
